Ordering through Ingram

Our paperbacks, hardcovers, and ebooks from 2023 onward, beginning with Winter Dance Party by Brett Biebel, are available for ordering through the Ingram catalog at a 50% discount with free returns for booksellers and at a library price for libraries.

Our 2012-2022 books are also available to order through Ingram, but the discount is less, and the books are listed as nonreturnable. We are willing to make up the discount percentage and accept free Ingram returns with free shipping directly through us. Please contact us at info @ altcurrentpress .com if you wish to take advantage of this supplemental Ingram ordering.

Books prior to 2012 are not currently available through Ingram. We are working to make our entire backlist available through Ingram at acceptable terms.

Ordering through Asterism

Our paperback books from 2023 onward, beginning with Winter Dance Party by Brett Biebel, are available for ordering through the Asterism catalog at a 50% discount with returns. All other terms are between the bookseller and Asterism, but the distributor ships worldwide with good international shipping rates. We are also willing to accept free returns directly back to us that were ordered through Asterism. Email info @ altcurrentpress .com for return details if you don’t have your own return policy through Asterism.

Books prior to 2023 are not yet available through Asterism, but we are working to make our entire backlist available soon. We are currently keeping 10 copies of each 2023 title stocked with them. If you need more than that, please let us know in advance, order directly through us, or order through Ingram.

Hardcovers and ebooks are not available through Asterism, though pre-release DRCs and paperback ARCs are.

Ordering Direct through Alternating Current Press

Our paperbacks are available to order direct from us, as well. Please note that hardcovers and ebooks are only available through Ingram.

For booksellers: Our paperbacks are available directly from us for a 50/50 split, with free worldwide shipping and free returns. To purchase books in advance, you can find a direct link to the bookseller order form for any book down in the “Distribution & Sales” category in the bottom righthand column of each book’s page. You can find quick bookseller purchase links to our full catalog here. If you’d prefer to be invoiced or to negotiate different sales options for your needs, please email info @ altcurrentpress .com.

For libraries and universities: We ask that you please order the books at full price. If you have budget restrictions that prohibit you from ordering at full price, you may use the bookseller link mentioned above, or you can email info @ altcurrentpress .com for other arrangements.

Ordering Ebooks through OverDrive

For libraries: Our ebooks from 2023 onward, beginning with Winter Dance Party by Brett Biebel, are available for ordering at a library price through the OverDrive catalog.

A few of our past ebooks are sporadically available in the OverDrive catalog, but in general, our books published prior to 2023 are not in the catalog at this time. We are working to make our entire backlist available through OverDrive at acceptable terms.

Getting DRCs through Edelweiss+

We are currently in the process of setting up an Edelweiss+ Review Copy Module (Above the Treeline) account to allow access to digital review copies of our titles.

We will have our account set to allow you to access our entire frontlist and backlist for free at any time, with no expirations.

If you like a book, please rate it, share it with your communities, and consider carrying a copy in your bookstore or library.

For Author Events

Booksellers: If you have an author event, you may order from Ingram, order from Asterism, order directly through us, or work out consignment with the authors. We are happy to work out any deal directly that your bookstore requires and to take any returns for free that your distributor doesn’t handle. We ask that you please not order more than you think you will sell because bulk returns through Ingram hurt small presses and indie authors. Email info @ altcurrentpress .com if you need event assistance.

Bookseller sales and event kits can be found here (or at the bottom of each individual book page in the “Distribution & Sales” section). These kits include shelf talkers, event posters, bookmarks, POS displays, and more. You can print them directly yourself, or we are happy to print them and mail them to you if you give us at least two weeks’ notice. We are also happy to mail you book stickers that say “Signed Edition” if you don’t have stickers of your own. Please email info @ altcurrentpress .com for any event-display needs.

For libraries: We can provide books on consignment for author events, or you may get books directly from authors. Please provide at least two weeks’ notice for the shipment of any event books.

For Classroom or Workshop Teaching

For universities, colleges, classes, and workshops that wish to teach one of our titles and that can afford to pay full price, we ask that you please pay full price for our books.

If you have budget restrictions that prohibit you from ordering at full price, we can give you a modest sliding-scale discount on a single bulk order shipped to a single location. Please email info @ altcurrentpress .com if you require a discount, need to be invoiced, or need to use a purchase order.

Requesting Desk or Exam Copies

Desk and examination copies are available in PDF, epub, and paperback for those who wish to see a copy before teaching it in a class or recommending it for group study. If you wish to request a desk or exam copy, please use this form.

For Student, Scholarly, or Academic Research

For students or researchers requesting one of our titles for scholarly or academic research purposes, we ask that you purchase a copy at full price if your research is being funded, or that you buy a PDF through the book’s Gumroad link (located in the purchase section on the individual book page) at a pay-what-you-can price that starts at $.99.

If you have financial restrictions that prohibit you from purchasing a PDF, please use this form to request a free reviewer copy.

Book-Club & Group Bulk Discounts

If you’ve selected one of our titles for your book club, group-reading session, or a book discussion, we have various group discounts available for the purchase of the books through us.

For groups of any size, individuals can get 15% off for separate orders purchased through our ACP Square storefront with a code that we will make specifically for your group.

Groups of 10+ with orders of 10+ copies can get a bulk discount of 20% off for one single shipment to one single location. Groups of 20+ with orders of 20+ copies can get a bulk discount of 30% off for one single shipment to one single location. Groups of 50+ with orders of 50+ copies can get a bulk discount of 35% off for one single shipment to one single location.

Each of our books has (or will have—we’re still updating some of our back catalog) a book-club reading guide that includes discussion questions, bookmarks, recommended-reading lists, recipes, reading-party crafts, and more.

Book-Club Perks

For groups of 10+ meeting in person, we will mail to one single U.S. address a complimentary package of bookmarks, stickers, and/or* buttons for all participants reading an ACP book. Requesting Early-Reader ARCs

We are happy to provide advance review copies to pretty much anyone who asks, and we’re excited to get our books out there in front of your audience, no matter how big or small. With that said, please keep in mind that print ARCs are incredibly expensive for small presses, so if you are happy with an epub or PDF, please request those formats instead of print.

If you want any of our books, frontlist or backlist, for promotional purposes (reviews, interviews, columns, specialty posts, &c.), please use this form.

ARC Publicity Email Mailing List for Early Readers

Do you love ACP as much as we do? (Probably not, but) if you want to think you do, we’re here for it! We have an ARC publicity list for reviewers, interviewers, podcasters, and promoters of all sorts who are interested in getting the first glimpse at our upcoming releases. We mail out an information email to the ARC publicity list once a new ARC is available (and only once a new ARC is available! Only one email per title) for anyone who wants to grab a chance to be an early reader of our upcoming ACP titles. If a book interests you, all you have to do is respond to the email to request an ARC, and we’ll send it to you.

We do not add your name to any other list automatically, and we don’t sell or give out your personal information. As always, you can unsubscribe at any time.

We are currently looking at negotiations with third-party outlets to get our entire catalog represented by a film agent who would present our books to filming opportunities on our behalf. For Audio Rights

We are currently looking at negotiations with third-party outlets to get our entire catalog converted into audiobooks. If you are an audiobook company and are interested in partnering with us to create audiobooks, please email info @ altcurrentpress .com.
